He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Zink and Olga Zink (Kohn); his wife Evelyn; his children, Michelle (David), Mylah and Terry (Carol); his siblings, Betty and Ron (Marge); and his son Mark. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakbank Baptist Church for a bench to be created in honour of Rodney's memory.
