He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Butterfield and James Butterfield (Jim); his in-laws, Winnifred and Watson Scott; his siblings, Shirley Jensen, Ron, Howard and Stuart; and his siblings-in-law, Morris Jensen, Dorreen Butterfield and Judith Murta.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Ryan and Eryn; his brother Greg (Cindy); and his sister-in-law Beth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
