He was predeceased by: his daughter Mona Messner; his parents, Joseph Messner and Aurise Messner; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Parmelia Lesage; his siblings, Gérard Messner, Irène Carrière (Albert) and Lorraine Routhier (Irènée); and his parents-in-law, Edward Halhead, Léda Messner, Léo Lesage (Jeanne), Andréa Rheault (Roland), Germain Lesage (Jeanne), Aimé Lesage (Dorothy), Raymond Lesage, George Lesage, Roma Lesage and John Lawrynuik.
He is survived by: his wife Hermance; his children, Georgette Messner (Paul Lapointe), Antoine Messner (Patricia), Muriel Gervais, Gérard Messner (Susan) and Brian Messner (Melanie); his grandchildren, Tina (Shawn), Kurtis (Hillary), Justin, Stephanie (Riley), Nicholas, Mathew, Shawn, Jessica (Yvan) and Corey; his great grandchildren, Isaac, Ethan, Aubrey, Kennedy, McKellar, Lochlan, Killian, Zachary and Arya; his siblings, Rita Halhead, Gerald Messner (Agnes) and Norman Messner (Shirley); and his siblings-in-law, Henri Lesage, Lorette Lesage, Alice Lesage and Edna Lawrynuik. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
