He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his parents, William John and Marie Louise Finch; his siblings, Nellie (Lockie), Ed (Lee), George and Howard; and his nephew Peter (Sandy).

He is survived by: his brother Wilf; his children, Elspeth (Randy), John (Debra) and George; his grandchildren, Erin (David), Lyndon, Aidan and Jordan; his great grandchildren, Isla and Nora; his nieces and nephews, Lockhart, Evadne (Aaron), Deirdre, Deborah and Jennifer (Don); and his daughters, Vanessa, Liona and Abigail (Karl).
