He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Smith and Rose Queenie Smith (Breadmore); his brother Dave; his sister-in-law Charlene; his stepsister Dorothy Tufford; and his brother-in-law Colin Maxwell.

He is survived by: his wife Rose; his children, Randy (Brenda), Sharalyn Reitlo (Glen) and Michael (Nicole); his grandchildren, Mathew, Heather, Alyssa and Sydney (Reitlo); and his sister Betty Maxwell. He is also survived by extended family, and many important friends.
