He was predeceased by: his parents, David F. Sawatzky and Katharina Sawatzky. He is survived by: his wife Maria; and his children, Alvin Sawatzky (Lisa), Frank Sawatzky (Tina), Martin Sawatzky (Maria), Irma Derksen, Martha Sawatzky, David Sawatzky (Linda), Eva Heinrichs (Dave), Sara Unger (Pete) and Corny Sawatzky (Amanda). He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, and 13 siblings.
