He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores; his parents, Edward and Anna; his siblings, Edwards, Joe, Robert, Norman, Dinah, Doris, Lillian and Gertrude; his granddaughter Crystal; his son-in-law Brent Solmundson; and the mother of his children Marie Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Connie, Wade (Terri), Bonnie (Claude), Marsha, Marcella (Keith) and Ross (Kathy); his stepchildren, Shawn, Aaron, Lisa and Jaimie; and his brother Peter. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Rene's name to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba-Dementia Care and Brain Health.
