It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harriet Merasty in Flin Flon, Manitoba, born in Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan, who passed away on January 10, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Alexander Merasty; her parents, Thomas Morin and Helen; her siblings, Herman, Hubert, Angelique, Johnny, Nancy Cowall and Adolph; her daughter Theresa Anne; her adoptive sons, Hubert Ballantyne and Joseph Ballantyne; her grandchildren, Francine Merasty, Lisa Angelique, Cameron, Madeline, Gary and Roland; her great grandchildren, Beau Michel, Romeo Merasty, Rayne Linklater, Baby Linklater, Baby Girl Clarke, Baby Linklater-Merasty and Baby Jobb; her nephew Clarence Michel; her friend McKinnley; and also, Rod Morin, Gwen Morin, Purre Morin, Arthur Morin Sr., Johnny Morin, Joe Morin, Philip Morin Jr., Kathy Morin, Rosaline, Henry Okemaw, Alec Morin (Theresa), Dorothy, Noella, Ovide and Robert.
She is survived by: her children, Marcel (Glenda), Thomas, Bernadette Clarke (Alphine) and Madeline (Nick); her adoptive children, Lorna (Robert), Helen, Darlene (Tony), Arthur, Armand and Ron Ballantyne; her grandchildren, Alphine Jr. (Teena), Bernard, Amanda (Austin), Dwight, Amy, Arthur, Gail, Catherine, Ryan (Gwen), Abel, Lola, Cody, Jordan, Cory, Anguelique (Pelly), William, Jessica, Brianna, Daphane, Dayna, Desiree, Darlene (Samson), Kathy (George), Carla, Marilyn, Laverne, Raylene, Jolene, Cindy, Marcella, Shannon, Jarrett, Scott, Janice (Henry) and Jeff; her godchildren, Harold Highway, Alphonse Dorion, Rebecca Sewap, Kathy Michel and Robert Jr. McCallum; her great great grandchild Seventy; her niece Lisa Cowall; and her close friends, Bella Michel and Evelyn Sr. McCallum. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
