He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Novak and Jacob Novak; his father-in-law Stefan Thordarson; his granddaughter Carline; his brother Roger Novak; and his brother-in-law Walter Yarema.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Adine Lischynski; his children, Carl Lischynski, Judy Marynowski (Bill) and Brenda Mydaniuk (Rob); his siblings, Dennis Novak (Steffie) and Irene Yarema; his mother-in-law Myrtle Thordarson; and his brothers-in-law, Reg Thordarson, Cyril Thordarson (Shirley), Eggert Thordarson (Lil) and Mel Thordarson (Donna). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
