He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leonard Beer and Cora May Beer. He is survived by: his wife Frieda Beer of Elie; and his children, Donald Beer (Sharon) of Winnipeg, Janet Sawatzky of Winkler, Jo-Ann Turner (Arthur) of Macdonald and Eldon Beer (Bev) of Beausejour. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; one brother; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
