He was predeceased by: his wife Fay (Manning); his siblings, Roy, Elgin (Helen) and Alda (Fred); and his parents, Andrew and Minnie Melvin.
He is survived by: his close friend Julia Vodden; his sons, Ken (Darlene), Bob (Roberta) and Murray (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Dexter (Ashley), Brant (Meghan), Kara (Anthony), Nicole, Lauren (Michael) and Sydney; his great grandchildren, Danya, Josie, Abbey, Kade and Teagan; his sister Catherine (Vic); his children, Dean (Jen), Dwayne (Rebecca) and Darren (Sarah); his grandchildren, Jackson, Avery, Taylor (Haydn), Hunter (Alyssa), Lachlan, Alex, Max and Griffin; and his great grandchild Parker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Crystal City Benevolent Society.
