He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Couling and Vera Couling; his wife Myrna Couling; his stepfather Dalton Munn; his in-laws, Jim and Edith Wilson; his brother Glen Couling; and his siblings-in-law, Herb Yeo, Julian Heirman and Elaine Heirman.

He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Jack (Morley), Faye Couling (Gary Quinn), Kerri Metelski (Peter) and Debbie Jo Fontaine (Ron); his grandchildren, Cherise (Robert), Lindsay (Ryan), Marlee, Rebecca (Nick), Tamara, Jessica, Caitlin (Taylor), Jordan and Eric; his great grandchildren, Taylor, Damon, Isaiah, Jack, Zachery, Everleigh and Brooke; and his sisters-in-law, Greta Melnychuk (Gene) and Myrna Scribner.
