He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thompson and Katherine Thompson; his brothers, Paul John, David and Donnie; his brother-in-law Leonard Kopytko; and his former wife Marjorie Thompson.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Turner; his grandchildren, Chontaille (Tyson), Bethany, Avery, Tiffanee, Cody, Nicholas, Troy (Heather), Morgan, Mason, Jennifer, Simone, Reighlynn, Tye, Kelly and Kristy; his sister Eleanor Kopytko; his sister-in-law Linda Thompson; and his brother Mark Thompson (Cathy). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
