He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Mantie; his sisters, Georgina Pinette (Marcel), Viriginia Bjornson (Barney) and Eloise Auch (Larry); his brother-in-law Edward Brandt; his close friend Irene Kroeker; and his parents, Eduard Schmidtke and Juliana Schmidtke.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark (April) and Brock (Lisa); his grandchildren, Evan and Natalie; and his sister Marie Brandt.
