He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Gibson and Lucinda Gibson (Agnes) of Waskada; his children, Carla Lynn (Dana Smith) of Brandon and Brian James (Jamie Gibson) of Golden, BC; his wife Dianne; his grandchildren, Colm, Flynn Smith and Ada Gibson; and his sisters, Dorothy Forster of Killarney and Linda Norris of Sanford.

His passing has been framed by a global pandemic and more conflict in Europe.
