He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Cornett and Maude Cornett. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary; his son Justin; his daughter-in-law Erin; his granddaughter Ella; his stepmother Gienia; and his sister Marie.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to Knox United Church, 451 – 18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5A9.
