He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert McGill and Florence McGill; his parents-in-law, Earl and Darlene McCutchin; and his brothers-in-law, Rodie Raison and Marvin McCutchin.
He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl Battersby (Brent) of Brandon; his grandchildren, Brynne and Mitchell of Brandon; his siblings, Helen Heaman (Keith) of Carman and Keith McGill (Carol) of Killarney; his siblings-in-law, Dennis McCutchin (Marie) of Brandon and Barbara Raison of Winnipeg; and his niece Tracy Heaman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well and many extended relatives and friends.
In May of 2023, Donald contracted Covid and was given a devastating prognosis.
