She was predeceased by: her husband Sterling Harry Boates; her parents, John Eichel and Mary Eichel; her brothers, Arnold, Norman and Leonard; and her granddaughter Maren Boates.

She is survived by: her children, Gail Kerr and Gary Boates (Cethlyn); her grandchildren, Brenna Kerr, Annalee Miazga (Mike) and Aldara Mackay; and her great grandchildren, Nickolia, Xander and Xena Miazga. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
