He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; and his parents, Eva Hamm and John Hamm. He is survived by: his son Ralph (Shauna); his grandchildren, Gabriel, Lauren and Morgan of Altona; his daughter Shawna Newell; his grandson Luke Newell of Fargo; and his close friend Sarah Derksen of Altona.
