It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Victor Penner (Altona, Manitoba), born in Winkler, Manitoba, who passed away on November 22, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Olly; his parents, Heinrich Penner and Katherina Penner; and his siblings, Nettie Labun, Linda Dyck, Elizabeth Penner and Henry.
He is survived by: his sons, David (Janet) and Steven (Anna); his granddaughters, Julia (Derek), Deborah (Adam), Kristi (James) and Kara (Donovan); his great grandchildren, Talia, Devin, John, Kingston and Lincoln; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Reillie, Ava and Brianna (Danny); and his stepgrandson Gavin.
After retiring Victor compiled and edited the book, Altona: A Pictorial History, rounding out a rich contribution to the historical record of the town of Altona.
