He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdinand Freier and Tina Freier (Toews). He is survived by: his wife Eva Freier; his children, Stefanie Freier (Stuart Busilla), Amy Freier and Kelsey Nagorski; his granddaughters, Natasha and Nadia; and his sister Barbara Freier.
