He was predeceased by: his daughter Eva Doerksen. He is survived by: his wife Katharina; and his children, Anne Harder (Pete), Ben Doerksen, Martha Harder (Stacy) and Bertha Funk (Matt). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
