He was predeceased by: his daughter Martha. He is survived by: his wife Anne; and his children, Mary Rempel (Frank), Bill Friesen (Rosemary) and Ed Friesen (Judy). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
