She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Richard and Mona Margaret Williams (Whittaker); her brothers, Donald and Howard; and her grandson Danny.

She is survived by: her children, Jeff McGill (Lianne LaPorte), Michael McGill (Cathy), Jane and Barb McGill (Shawn Spicer); her grandchildren, Crystal (Scott), Cheryl (Richard), Ryan (Barb), Jamieson, Molly (Anthony), Sally (Nathaniel), Abby and Owen; her great grandchildren, Liam, Aiblhin, Ethan and Mckayla; and her husband Lawrence Howard McGill.

Donations may be in Mona's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

“Larry, Jeff, Michael, Jane and Barb and all of yours Mona was a sweet, strong, gutsy and devoted lady. I watched her be a woman devoted to Larry and her children who willingly packed up and moved to Nigeria. Then, when Larry still was working in foreign lands, she stayed in Canada raising those kids, mostly on her own with no family support, so they could have an uninterrupted education. When we visited she always was a gracious hostess. We had many good times and l miss her. Love you all. R”
