We are sad to announce that on January 24, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Maurice William Preece (Victoria, British Columbia). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his sister Margaret. He is survived by: his wife Michiko; his daughters, Trina (Kevin) and Megan; his grandchildren, Kyley (Perry), Claire (Steve), Patrick (Farah) and Kate; his great grandchildren, Ben and Haley; his stepchildren, Erik (Emma) and Kristen; his stepgrandchildren, Yuzuru and Affie; his son David; and also, Michiko, Trina, Megan, David and Maurice.

As with so many families on this journey we relied on the wisdom and support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada—any donations in memory of Maurice would be much appreciated.

“Maurice was a friend of mine since I joined the staff at Gordon Head Junior High School in Victoria in 1961. I am not only indebted to him for his friendship but also for his thoughtful writing that helped me earn my BEd. I was able to help him learn to sail which allowed him to have many maritime adventures, and of his Inter coastal Waterway adventure, I’m still envious. I offer my condolences to Michiko and family. He is missed. Leigh Holland, Nanaimo”
