He was predeceased by: his sister Frances (George Robertson). He is survived by: his wife Ann Marie; and his grandchildren, Fiona (Colin), Gillian (Steve), Betsy (Doug), Sarah (Kris), Ben, Georgia, Lydia, Sophie and Molly. He is also survived by his daughters, sons-in-law.
In 2019 he was awarded the Kenneth A.J. Founders Award for his significant contributions to the Pacific Coast Surgical Association.
