He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Bird (Rooney) and James "Bud" Bird. He is survived by: his wife Alberta; his children, Karen Patton (Boyd), Scott Bird (Janelle) and Paula Doig (Tim); and his grandchildren, Ryland Bird, Sydni Bird, Coleton Fisher and Taylor Fisher.
