It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Louise Roberts (Fisher) of Vernon. She peacefully passed away at the age of 72 years on Friday, November 13, 2020 after a brave battle with cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband Roy, father Nolan, mother Margaret and brothers Arthur, Darrol and Gary. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sisters Sharon (Ed) and Eleanor; brothers Wayne and Harold (Ellen); her sons Ken, Michael (David), Lance (Tracy); her daughter Lisa (Ryan) and her wonderful grandson Tyson along with many nieces, nephews, dear friends and loved ones.
She was born in Creston, BC on January 12, 1948 to Margaret and Nolan Fisher and grew up in Wells, BC where she met her husband Roy when she was just 13 years old. Gail and Roy were married in February 1966 and started their family that same year. They moved to Whitehorse, Yukon in 1968 to raise their family. In 2006, Gail and Roy moved to Oliver BC to retire.
Gail had a tremendous love for her family, all music and dance. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her kids and loved watching her husband Roy play in his band and attended many concert performances over the years with her daughter Lisa.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society or charity of one’s choice.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the family has decided not to have a funeral service and reception at this time. The family will have a celebration of life in the spring or summer with the date and location to be announced at a later time.
