She was predeceased by: her father Bruce Palmer; her brother Deane Palmer; her sister-in-law Theresa Palmer; and her mother Ione Robinson. She is survived by: her children, Kevin Heibein of Horseshoe Valley, Heather, Dave Robertson of Gorrie, Holly Heibein of Vancouver, Pamela, Steve Place of Questa and New Mexico; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Matt Van Wyk, Dustin Robertson and William Place; her great grandchildren, Ryder and Ellery Van Wyk; her nephews, Ron and Joe Palmer (Rose); her husband Bill Heibein; and her family, Kevin, Heather, Holly and Pamela.

When Joyce's health began to decline during the COVID-19 pandemic, she moved to Livingstone Manor in Listowel to be nearer to family.
