She was predeceased by: her great-grandparent Riemke Hiemstra (Lord); her parents, Rein Huisman and Antje Huisman; her husband John Hiemstra; her son-in-law John Mensonides; and her great grandchild Charlotte Amsing.
She is survived by: her daughters, Annette (George DeHaan), Ida (Thys Jaarsma), Sylvia Mensonides, Johanna (John Bain), Thelma (Jim Amsing), Jennifer (Steve Gehl), Ann Rita (Ed Aasen) and Geraldine (Ken Bouwman). She is also survived by 36 grandchildren and spouses, and 72 great- grandchildren.
