Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joan O'Brien of Tappen, British Columbia, born in Hanna, Alberta, who passed away at the age of 74, on October 23, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roderick McDonald and Ruth McDonald (Daniel O'Brien); and her sister Judy Swaren. She is survived by: her sibling Salmon Arm; her husband Daniel Thomas O'Brien; her children, Lorraine Thomas (Matt), Irene O'Brien (Daniel Schwartz), Karen Bubola (Adrian), Colleen Paetsch (Greg), Heather O'Brien (Michele Weber) and Geoff O'Brien (Heather); her grandchildren, Nicole (Coltan), Jared (Cassidy), Joel (Noelle), Kierra, Mikaela (Jesse), Danielle, Abbi, Riley, Drew, Wyatt, Connor and Hailey; her great grandchild Luke; and her brothers, Bill (Betty-Ann) and Jim (Joan). She is also survived by numerous relatives, friends.

Joan fought a courageous battle against chronic lung conditions, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the British Columbia Lung Association.
