He was predeceased by: his siblings, Shirley, Jean, Glenda, Georgina (George) and Edward (Eddie).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Merkley; his children, Joanne O'Brien (Stephen Hewitt) and Grant Merkley (Kathryn Turner); his grandchildren, Spencer O'Brien (Ashley), Madelyne Merkley, Rylin Merkley, Cole Hewitt (Cassi) and Emily Swindells (Dustin); and his sister Gwen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
