He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Thomas and Catherine Thomas; and his brother-in-law Alex Barichello. He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Christine (Paul) and Bryce; his close friend Bobbi; the mother of his children Louise (Gary); his sister Gwyneth (Gerry); his grandchildren, Khala, Nash, Reid, Jacob, Chase and Hannah; his cousin Wales; and also, Todd (Michelle) and Troy (Kim).
