John Franken Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Franken of Smithers, British Columbia, who passed away on December 29, 2021, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Franken and Ann Franken (van den Berg); his wife Sandi Groothuis (Sandra) of Sumas, WA; his children, Cedric (Kate) of Hull, IA, Jodi (Kevin) of Cloverdale, BC and Kristin (Brian) of Valley Springs, SD; his grandchildren, Emma, Jonathon, Michaela, Lucas and Kendra; and his siblings, Robert Franken and Irene Helgath.
Covid restrictions have made things a little more difficult.
In lieu of flowers, we would love donations to be sent to the Bulkley Valley Naturalists. They will be doing a bluebird box building program this year and will use all donations in John's name to purchase materials for this project in memory of him.
