He is survived by: his son Stephen (Carol) of Canberra; his stepdaughter Miranda Sips of Edmonton; his son-in-law Rob Dandy of Brentwood Bay; his grandchildren, Thoran, Mitchell and Shay; his brother Keith Nichol (Jeannie); and his friends, John Reay, Ev Reay, George Woznica and Mary Lou Woznica.
