He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Mariya Murin; his wife Claire Smith of Black Diamond; and his siblings, Julie (Magella) and Paul Murin.

He is survived by: his daughter Joy Neish (Robert); his grandchildren, Pat Neish and Alicia Neish (Geoff); his son Scot Murin (Colleen); and his grandchild Chris McKerrell (Drew).
