He was predeceased by: his parents, George Paterson and Elspeth Paterson; his wives, Wilma Stewart and Elsie Tweedale; his stepson Ned; and his siblings, John, William, Margaret (Newick), George Jr., James, Elizabeth (Hanly), Elsie (Olsen) and Andrew.
He is survived by: his children, Wilma, Rodger and Kathy DeMille; his friend Bertha Norrish; his children, Ralph (Joan) of Morro Bay, California, Phil (Tammy) of Calgary, Ken (Tess) of Enderby and Elaine of Vernon; his daughters-in-law, Donna and Lily; his stepchildren, Lyle (Margaret) of Australia, Judy (Vic), Mary and Cathy (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Amanda, Jesse and Desirae Paterson.
