She is survived by: her daughters, Maya (Doug) and Marci; her granddaughters, Betsie and Elizabeth; her siblings, Roy Akune (Itoko), Robert Akune (Molly), Misaye Hamaura and Ted Akune (Rose); her sister-in-law Yukiko Tanaka; and her children, Dr. Rosanna Switzer, Dr. Martin McKeown, Sylta Hellner and Sharon Barber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Steveston Buddhist Temple (4360 Garry St, Richmond, BC V7E2V2).
