He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Rienks and Houkje Rienks; his stepmother Anna Rienks; and his siblings, Isabelle Oxtoby, Kory Rienks, Rienk Rienks and Seitse Rienks.
He is survived by: his wife Maxine; his children, Lori Rohde (Roland) of Revelstoke, Jimi Rienks (Kim) of Revelstoke and Sandi LeBrun (Peter) of Calgary; his grandchildren, Ashley (Wayne), Logan (Shari), Eric, Marci (Tim) and Stephanie (Jaydan); his great grandchildren, Harper, Presley, Evie, Kennen and Callie; his siblings, Gertie Russell and Houkje Wendt; and his sister-in-law Lona Rienks.
A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Brandon Bowers Funeral Service (301 MacKenzie Ave, Revelstoke, BC V0E2S0).
