“In January I lost one of the best friends a girl could ever have. Marlene and I had been friends since I was 18 years old. We didn't get to see much of each other in later years, but we talked, usually for a minimum of 2 hours at least once a year. I always phoned her on her birthday but she didn't make it to May 17th this year. Her family mailed these old photos she had kept of me - they came in today's mail. A 40-something me digging clams while over staying with them, target shooting, which I had completely forgotten about in yet another visit. Then a photo she took of me in my White Rock condo living room. Marlene was such a unique lady, dry sense of humor and some of the best times I've ever had with a friend, I had with her. Memories galore. RIP my dear friend. Your boys are talking about coming up hunting and to see their "Auntie Yvonne". Brings tears to my eyes that they still call me that after all these years. Wish you were here. Thank you for being an incredible friend. Love you forever.”
