He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Higgins and Jeanie Higgins (MacKay); and his brothers, David (Reggie), Eric (Edna), Arthur, Bert (Gerry), Kenneth (Bernice) and Allan.
He is survived by: his wife Melita; his children, Catherine Christensen and Peter (Kathy); his grandchildren, Brad Christensen (Zuza), Sheldon (Stefanie), Matthew, Maria (Brett), Carlie (Scott), Aaron (Loan), Sharon (Nolan), Shelby (Austin), Ciara, Xander, Chance, Tommy and Steven; and his sisters, Melissa Stevens (Roy) and Laura Imre (Wes). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
