Catherine Elizabeth Markin Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Elizabeth Markin (Port Alberni, British Columbia), born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 11, 2022 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sister Patricia; her brothers-in-law, Don McInnis (Booper), Don Freeman and Gerard McPhee; and her parents, Peter McNeil and Mary McNeil.

She is survived by: her husband Doug; her son David Markin (Alison) of Victoria; her grandsons, Isaac Aleksandr and Edmund William Markin; her siblings, Marie Mello (Herb) of Weymouth Massachusetts, Judy McInnis, Bonita Morin (Jack), Linda Freeman of Dorchester Massachusetts, Deborah McPhee, Peter (Bev), Kim Patterson (Tom) of Barrie Ontario and Mike MacNeil Lexington (Jill); her mother-in-law Mamie Markin of Port Alberni, BC; her siblings-in-law, Denise Markin of Victoria, Kelly Markin of Parksville, Alison Markin of Port McNeill and Brian Markin of Parksville; her aunts, Veronica Stonier of Dartmouth, NS, Judy Jack of Port Alberni and Annie Agar of Chilliwack; and her close friends, Rick and Mary Homer of Victoria, BC. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family requests that donations be made to the British Columbia Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
