He was predeceased by: his wife Johanna. He is survived by: his children, Tom (Sheila), Susan and Angela (Dale); his grandchildren, Nicole (Ray), Chad, Noah, Aidan, Cole (Danielle) and Carli; his great grandchildren, Konnor and Korben; his sisters, Christa and Renate (Manfred); his nephew Germany; and his siblings, Ella, Emma and Klaus. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces.
