He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; and his sister Marion Cowan. He is survived by: his daughter Collene Thomas (Geoffrey); his grandsons, Michael Amstutz (Fiancé-Abbey) and Bryan Amstutz (Harini); his nieces, Karen Fyke, Kathy Kals (Bill) and Wendy (John); and his close friend Margaret Cochran. He is also survived by his dad, brothers-in-laws and friends.
