Sirkka Tuomi Obituary

On Sunday June 30, 2019, Mrs. Sirkka Inkeri Tuomi of Osoyoos passed away suddenly at her home at the age of 88 years. Sirkka will be fondly remembered by her loving family including her husband Mauno of 61 years; sons Kalle, Heikki and Antti; three grandchildren, Trent, Stacy and Zoe and one great-granddaughter Faithlynn.

Sirkka trained as a nurse and worked as an LPN in Finland and as a nurses aide in Canada. Later in life, alongside her husband, she ran a successful cleaning company in Calgary for many years. She lived, worked and traveled across Canada and Europe and made lasting friendships wherever she went. Sirkka was a nature lover who loved gardening, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing and pretty much any outdoor pursuit, including mountain climbing, which she took up at the age of 72 when she reached the summit of Wapiti Mountain.
