He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“Margaret-Anne and Mallie Turner send our sincere condolences to Mike's family. We learned the news of his death, y/d and were stunned. Haven't seen him in awhile...I guess since his retirement from the rink....we were regulars there and enjoyed his friendliness, pleasantness and just his overall demeanor....He was a great guy. He and Mal Sr. were great pals and I know that Mal really enjoyed working with him....he used to say, it wasn't really like going to work, but more like 'hanging out'.”
