He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Walmsley and William Walmsley; his brother John Walmsley (Eleanor); and his siblings-in-law, Barry Johnson and Alice Walmsley.

He is survived by: his wife Morag Walmsley; his children, Bill Walmsley (Bonnie), Colin Walmsley (Keri) and Jacqui Burton (Fred); his siblings, Tom Walmsley, Gordon Walmsley (Joan), Doreen Rooney (Doug) and Diane Johnson; his grandchildren, Heather Stratuliak (Clinton), Cajun Bardgett, Brynn, Ash and Rowan Walmsley; and his great grandchildren, Jaleena and Hela Bardgett.
