“Victor Kern was a Canadian hero. He flew B52 bombers over Germany in loyal service to his beloved British Empire, even though his family were ethnic Germans. I met Victor 3 years before he died. He would walk every night with his walker while I smoked outside my building. He told me about his life and his hobbies. He had a good and long life and was looking forward to the end - having lost all his loved ones already. I brought him some baking on every Christmas and we visited. RIP Victor.”
