It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Balahura (Nelson, British Columbia), who passed away on July 3, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine (Schneider); his sister Mary (Ferraro); and his brothers-in-law, Mel Ferraro of Nelson, Frank Schneider (Dorothy) and Bill Schneider.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Balahura (Brenda) of Castlegar and Donna Roberts (Richard) of Princeton; his grandchildren, Marissa Balahura (Jeremy), Brent Roberts (Marcie), Justin Balahura (Lindsay) and Danielle Krause (Darcy); his great grandchildren, Audrey, Austin, Autumn, Elaine, Malcolm and Cadence; and his sisters, Florence and Ann of Toronto.

In lieu of flowers, friends who so wish may make memorial donations to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation.
