He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rachel; his children, Cameron (Patricia Walsh-Paton) of Calgary Alberta and Kathryn (Kevin Lang); his siblings-in-law, Lyvonne and Chester DeBruin of Kaslo, BC.; his grandsons, Mackenzie (Wynona Dumas), Wyatt, Dexter and Jerome; and his parents, Archibald Coull Paton of Ferryden and Alice Ruxton of Brechin.
